We are a new Alpaca Farm in the Hills of Allegany County, in NY.   We bought our first animals in June 2003, had our first cria born, before we even had the animals on our farm.  Our second cria was born in November.  What a great day it was for us, to be part of such a miracle.  A beautiful dark brown healthy boy. We are really enjoying our Alpacas, they are quite easy to handle and to care for.  Our farm started out with all brown Alpacas, one being a "fancy" or a pinto colored.   The  dark colors really struck my fancy & that is what we first purchased.   Since then we have been able to produce alpacas of all colors here on our farm.  From white to true black. We have also purchased 2 Great Pyr Dogs, to protect our herd, Buck & Doe. They are a great addition to the family. Alpacas have become a very wise investment, as the stock market continues to wobble.  You can look out the window & see your investment grazing in the pasture in stead of watching your investments just fly out the window with the stock market.
